My wife has been riding her bike to and from work since she started working... been doing various other rides with me, as well. She wants to be doing 50 mile+ rides with me by next summer.
Oh, and now she's asking when we'll be getting her clipless pedals and cycling shoes.

My wife gave me a gift certificate for two grand to go buy a new bike, five years ago...this was before I get back into the bike business...that may have been the last item I bought retail.

ha! got you all beat... my wife bought me the horrendously large Park MTB-3 multi-tool for Xmas last year at the Discovery store at the mall... she said the clerk told her it was the exact same model used by Lance Armstrong!

My wife gave me the go ahead on a Fuji SL1 decked out with Record carbon, Charisma carbon wheels, Ritchey carbon WCS seat post, stem, and bars. Plus she let me get an extra set of wheels to train with.
