Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

how about these brakes?

I was looking at all my spare bike parts today and I realized I have enough stuff to build up a singlespeed with an aluminum Scattente frame that I have lying around. The only thing I need to complete the build is a pair of brakes. Since I don't really "need" this bike and it has so far cost me $0, my goal is to go as cheap as possible, but without buying total junk. Nashbar has a housebrand set of calipers that are extremely cheap ($23). Anybody ever had any experience with these.
