Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Seatpost question

I am looking for a seatpost for the Kestrel Evoke framset that Bikesdirect is offering. My question is, do I go with a 32.4 (not many choices) or a 31.6 with a shim(many choices)? Also looking to stay under $100 either way, and would be going with a 56 cm frame set. Currently ride a 58 cm 2300.

Thanks in advance for any and all replies.

I don't think you should use a shim. However... you don't know yet how much setback you want (if any). So using the post you have with a shim might give you an idea of what you need.
