Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

+1 for Hammer Nutrition

I noticed this weekend that HammerNutrition.com is running a sale this month on their clothing. I picked up 3 pair of their team logo bibs for $36/pair, a Jersey for $28 and a $7 T-shirt.

The morning after I placed my order, Hammer actually calls me to welcome me as a customer, and to tell me that my order is already packed and about to ship. I was shocked!

Even though I selected the budget shipping option, my order arrived in two days (a day earlier than expected) packed with a ton of free food samples.

Ok, so their team kit is red, not my favorite, but I'm a graduate student and can't afford to be fussy. Mostly I'm thrilled to get three pair of high-end Voler bibs for the price of one. The jersey's not a bad deal either.

Fantastic consumer experience overall.

Precisely how much and what kind of free stuff? If it's enough, I might consider ordering an ugly-ass pair of bibs from them.

They're ugly, but they're affordable. Basically the concept that they're running with is that they're ordering team-level kits without the team, and selling them off at near-team/wholesale prices
to anyone who wants them. They get free advertising, you get high quality goods on the cheap. It works out for both parties so long as you, the customer, is okay with the graphic (which, considering how some people ride Cannondale with as-many-logos-as-they-can-fit-on-there and other NASCAR like blatant rolling billboards, should be fine)

+1... first order is a huge bag of goodies (different bars, gels, heed sample packs, electrolyte samples, etc)... after that, they always send additional stuff, which seems to depend on what you order. For instance I ordered 2 large bottles of gel (one flavor) and they sent a few individual packs as well of other flavors to try. Not only are their products great, but their customer service is too.

They're actually not bad in person. Guy in my club got in on the deal. I do suspect, however, that they are on sale because a new more pleasing design is in the works.

Yeah, this is why I OP'd. A good price is one thing, but a good price with great customer service is pretty rare.

Voler has a new chamois design for 08 which is seamless, while the 07's use the old seamed type. Voler is having a sale too, but the prices aren't nearly as good as Hammer. I think that both are just clearing out old stock to make room for the new 08 bibs and shorts.

It gets slightly transparent, but the front and back panels are black with ample coverage, so you shouldn't have any problems unless your cheeks hang to the side instead of the rear.

I really like the 07 bibs I have. They are a summer weight fabric but the chamois is good though a bit thin compared to some other brands. Regardless, the fit is great and I'm happy with them.

That must have been today or yesterday!

I put off ordering until I noticed the XL's disappeared this weekend.

Great customer service and great products. I won't hesitate to order from them in the future for great deals on cycling wear and for nutrition products. Love the bib shorts and the Raspberry gels.

PM me if you are a first time customer. I'll send you my customer number and you can get 15% off your first order by entering it during checkout.

Talk about good advertising. It's funny because you get tons of trolls trying to get you to buy crappy stuff, and then you get a sincerely satisfied customer who posts about their experience, and you can see the response.

I'm about to be Hammer's newest customer, if someone wants to PM me a referral number I can use to get 15% off. Thanks to any takers. And thanks to the OP for the heads up. It's great to hear that some companies still really take care of their customers. I was looking for a jersey anyways, and I think this might be the one. I don't mind advertising for them if it's that cheap.

Thanks again to anyone who can get me a referral number for my order.
