Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

One more bottle cage and you'd probably be disqualified.

Nice work with that allez raven. I was thinking, with the upgraded wheels (either the Fuzions or SuperiorLites), saddle and current shimano 520 pedals on my sora drivetrain, my bike is not all that heavy. I can probably accomplish very close with drivetrain upgrade.

Thanks - technically its not an Allez though, but the predecessor the S-Works E5. Close enough though.

I was going to say your E-5 but they are the same. (Different AL correct)? But the Allez was around back in the 80's. So it's 'sort of' the predecessor I guess. All Ti Stem, Seatpost im assuming?

No worries - I should have said the predecessor to the current Allez E5. The seat post and stem are aluminum, but with Ti bolts.

Never weighed my bike before on a bike scale. I do know the wheelset helped a lot dropping nearly 1k grams or so. However, I will probably have one of these https://superiorlitebikes.com/slproda.php (That is my goal-in black color scheme) before I get the Allez down to 15.

I plan on putting a red cassette on there too, so that should put me more safely in the sub 15 range.

I didn't know this thread existed. I'm going for under 13lbs currently. Lightning crankset just arrived. This was prior.

Cut your steerer and get rid of the second bottle cage, get down to 14.1.

(just to help you with your goal of maximum postage....)
