Any beach-types use AC Magnesiums?
I've been looking at some new clincher wheelsets and have narrowed it down to the Rolf Prima Elan Aeros and the American Classic Magnesiums. My mechanic recommended the latter, which he says are stiffer and have a greater spoke count. However, he also said with my body weight (115 lbs) I wouldn't have any issues with the Rolfs.
Rolf Prima Elan Aeros: 1295g, 20/24 spokes, 24mm rims, $950
American Classic Magnesiums: 1207g, 28/32 spoke count, 24mm rims, $1100
So I've been reading reviews of the Magnesiums and found this in Pez:
...You’ll need special brake pads for these hoops though and we used Koolstop’s greens…
Interestingly enough, you’ll wear through the coating in short order (75 miles had a noticeable effect). That will leave the raw metal exposed, and that’s where a bit of special care with these wheels comes in.
These are not standard every day bang around wheels. If you live in an area that salts roads during winter or near a coastline, you will need to give these wheels a fresh water rinse and wipe after use. In fact, even if you live in an area where rust isn’t much of a problem, you should give these a quick wipe after a ride no matter what…
Has anyone who lives in a beachy area like me had any problems with Magnesiums?
I'm pretty good about keeping my bike/wheels clean, but I'm a bit wary about long-term effects of coastal riding.

According to American Classic's website:
"Magnesium wheels need to be re-tensioned and trued after approximately 100 miles."
Really... I mean, Really.... what?!
Perhaps eBay them off and pick up a set of 350's. they're 28/32 and at 1300g. More affordable, too. Without these issues...
Just a thought. Good morning.
