Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Which Color Handlebar Tape to Use

Here is a pic of a bike I'm finishing the build on in next 2 weeks. it does not have the bars. stem, or cable housing in the pic. The bars will be Nitto Noodles. Stem I have not bought yet.

I'll be going with white cable housings.

I am after the light creamsicle look.

I can't find any orange and white bar tape, which would be perfect. If you know of any let me know.

Colors I am thinking about are:

green
green & white
black & white
white
????

Hey - the green and orange look works for Florida Gators

I don't want a pumpkin trick or treat halloween look, so I am not considering black

What would you recommend ?

This already came up. The answer is always white.

But lose the rest of the yellow with it.

Cinelli and FSA and Profile all made good white tape. FSA tape is made by Cinelli anyhow, so you can't go wrong.

But doesn't white bar tape look really ugly after just a few weeks of grit and sweat and grime? And if ya have to change a tire or ya drop a chain then isn't it pretty much ruined as far as looks?

Ehhhhhh..... I don't care about how the white looks.... A little grim just makes it look more used and rugged (a good thing - like faded jeans....Man, I can't believe I used THAT analogy - I prefer women BTW....).

It doesn't have to look like it's going to a photo-shoot - a little Brite pad does the trick though...

That all depends on how dirty your hands are. Bring a wet-nap

Why don't I see more white bar tape on group rides? Like 5% maybe are white, 5% other color combos, and 90% black.

This is one of the few times where I'd actually prefer black.

I'm thinking you should go on the internet (ebay, performance, or someother place) and order the exact color that you want.

I voted for white, but only because of the options that were there to vote on.

The exact color that I want - an orange & white splash, does not seem to exist.

The poll is going white, but.................................

I am seriously thinking the solid green or green & white splash.

What about white on left bar & orange on white bar (Cinelli makes an orange tape)? Or white on left & green on right.
