Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Opinions needed on this wheelset

I maybe able to pick up a year old pair for $150. Seems like an ok deal.
https://freewheelbike.com/itemdetails...Id=249&id=3348

Some of the reviews I've read state that they're a little flexi. Anyone have experience on these?

Also, how do they compare to Mavic elites? I could probably pick up a used pair for under $200 on ebay.

Thanks

I'm not a fan of 16/20 spoke count wheels since they tend to be less than robust. My value stream goes more toward 28 hole wheels for durability sakes.

Well, I've been riding Mavic Elites for a while now and have been very happy with them so I'm happy with the 18/20 spoke count.

I saw the Shimano WH-R560 Wheelset for $150 locally (used) and was curious of the quality and if it's better/worse/equal to the Elites.

This would be for my present build.

Much worse. Shimano wheels in the R5XX category are total crap....and heavy to boot - despite their "low" spoke count. They make up for the lack of spoke strength by putting it into the rim = weight.

There's a reason they are cheap, and it has little to do with the fact that they have been used.

Thanks, I'll keep my eye on ebay for Elites.
