Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I like the seat tube/top tube joint...perfect place to stash your steroids.

<originally posted in another thread, but any excuse to repost! I also have a Streetfire which is awesome too.>

My dearest wife encouraged me to upgrade my Trek 5200 to this (didn't take too much encouragement!):

Full Ultegra SL, the colour looks great on the frame to me:

Will be changing the white bar tape (no black in stock today) and cutting the steerer tube eventually.

Looking forward to riding and get it all dirty!

Have ridden bike since these were taken and I love it. Need to move the hoods and reposition the bars, all too upright at the moment and the white tape will go for sure, I have ordered grey tape. And yes I've take the tape off the brakes.

Darn... I wish I could afford one of those... well the second reason I've been sort of reluctant to get a bmc is the warranty, so far i know are 3 years, and to tell the truth i really cant afford being changing the bike each 3 years. But yes u did awesome dude.. love your bike, hope my wife could encoraged me to change my bike for a bmc hehehe

good luck

^^^ why would you have to change after 3 years. do you honestly think something will go wrong with the frame on the 1st day of hte 4th year?

My wife encourages me too! Except it's to stop spending $$ on this stuff! The bad part is that I don't own a sweet composite anything except for the CF fork and seat post on my Allez!

Warranty or not I'd take a BMC if I could afford one. I'm sure it'll last much longer than 3 years...

Pic from last summer, no real new changes, just new tires GP4000s. Prob should take a few new pics anyway. BMC makes the best bike I have ever been on.

Rollin, what size frame is that? I'm thinking of getting an '08 Pro Machine in size 49. The sizing on them runs weird, as I typically ride a 52.

It's a 49 frame, effective top tube is 53. I would be on a 52 Trek.

My Streetfire is a Small (TT 52.8)

ES wheelset on Team Machine has been replaced with Reynolds MV32s. Pro Mchine rear wheel replaced with wireless powertap laced to a DV46 Reynolds Tubular. Anyone need a rear DV46 tubular?

ReedZ-Very nice bike!

What type of case is that? Do you get charged extra by the airlines?

And where was that picture taken with the lake in the background?

Thanks, Sci-Con Evolution Travel case and the picture was taken in Ithaca, NY this summer. I usually ship the case by DHL when traveling. Just my preference. I see you are in Central, NY, need to borrow the case, I'm sure we could work out something.

The case at Competitive Cyclist (Whoa! The price has gone up significantly since I purchased mine!);
