Sidi bought online
I got a pair of Sidis from an online shop and I'm not sure about the size. It feels very comfortable, but there's a bit of a gap between my toes and the tip. Should there be a gap as with a running shoe or should I go for a smaller pair?

How big of a gap? 1/2" or less is probably good. More than that I'd say too big. However, my Sidi's fit with less than 1/4" up front.

Consider how the shoes are fitting elsewhere. Too much room in the toes is a possible sign that the fit is too loose but the most important fit is probably mid-foot. Does it look right in the tounge area or are the two sides just about meeting in the middle? Is your foot staying firmly placed in the heel or will your foot slide forward ever so slightly under force?

The widest part of your foot (the balls of the foot) should fit in the widest part of the shoe. I think that is more important than a gap at the end.

They are pointy so unless your feet are pointy.... there is going to be a gap.
When you deal you don't want them sliding around. If they stay
put and don't hurt, they fit.

The gap is about 1/2", maybe even less. Otherwise, it feels like it was custom made for my feet, however I haven't had the opportunity to see how they fit under force.

A little room in the toe will not hurt. Consider that your feet may swell toward the end of a really long ride. I discovered this at about mile 150 of my first double century.

Im in the same situation with mine. I got them from the LBS and they fit like a glove. I didnt pay much attention to the toe room but after riding for a while I realized that I had them strapped really tight, as if they were too big. I think its fine though, they fit great where they need to and they dont slip at all. Ride with them and see how they work out, thats the best test.

+1... I've got a little more than 1/2" of gap. But I get a real snug fit across the widest part of the shoe, so my feet stay put. However, that 1/2" is measured with thin socks and before a long ride. Swelling, as mentioned, and wearing thicker socks in cooler weather are both times when I find I have almost no wiggle room. I am very grateful at the slightly larger size when I put a nice warm pair of wool socks on.

Its a matter of preference. I like my shoes to be snug so I have less than 1/4 play between toes tp of shoe. On rides over 100km, I get very slight swelling in the width and none in length.

Make sure you're trying them after walking around a lot or something. I used to have a habit of trying on cycling shoes after just driving to the shop, then I'd end up with 1/2 to 1 size too small because my feet swell up a little during the ride.

Anyone have issue with Sidi Genius 6.6 shoes that have one spot on tongue rubbing top of foot and the tops over the toes sort of not expanding up and pushing down on toes
Like the material is not staying rigid and is collapsing down on toes when pedaling
