Yes,,how can we tell what kind of human being you are w/o pics of the ride? At this point I do not know whether to dismiss you as just another peon who rides a pos bike and sleeps with goats or a saint worthy of praise... all this I will determine simply from a few pics of the ride

I hate to tell about the new bike because I bought from bikes direct and I know many on the forum dislike them. Actually my wife bought the Motobecane Vent Noir for me for christmas to upgrade me from a cheap walmart bike. The new bike came with Shimano 105 rear derailer, Tiagra front derailer, Shimano 9 Speed Cassette 12-25T (27 total gears), FSA crank, VP ultralite clipless pedals, Ritchey seat post, Ritchey ergo handle bars, Vuelta XRP PRO Aero wheels with bladed spokes(look sweet), Tektro BlackChrome DualPull Aluminum brakes, Shimano 4400 STI (Integrated Brake and Shift levers), Cane Creek Threadless Sealed Bearing headset, and Kinesis Carbon Fiber front fork. I am very happy with the bike and I actually went on my first ride with it today. It is 12lbs lighter than my old bike and seems very responsive. The shifters were smooth as silk and the brakes worked really good. I was able to learn about bike maintenance from my old bike since I was constantly workin on it so I decided the bikes direct route was for me since I could assemble and tune myself and I could get a bike with good components for a fraction of the price of what my LBS could get me.
So there you go. I guess the bashing is about to begin!
Here are some pics:
I know some of you her will not accept the bike but I love it and I don't care what you think!!!!!

I'm hoping the BD haterade has all been digested this past year, but then again I'm sure there are a few people on here who still have some spit left in their systems yet. There will continually be issues with their business methodology, semi-questionable protection by the powers-that-be-moderators, and their fantastic prices (by price comparison of components, ignoring the 'brand name')
Anyway, Brent: congratulations on the bicycle - stay safe on the roads, out speed the cars and consider this the beginnings of your newly reinforced addiction. Hopefully it will lead to a greatly reduced reduction of your use of a car as well, but that's just my opinion & hope.
Edit: Oh yeah, one more thing - your wife sought this out for you. The fact that someone in your life takes that much interest and attention to your pleasure, health, and life is a very beautiful thing; be sure to thank her everyday.

My bike has NEVER been that clean! Do me a favor and ride it in the next rain so I don't feel so bad about my dirty bike!

Thanks guys! I do feel blessed that my wife supports my new addiction and I do thank her every day. Hopefully this bike will last a pretty good while but I see it as a good place to get started! Nachoman, we have a chance of rain tomorrow so I may even ride in the rain for you!
