Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Bit of xmas gift card advice would be appreciated

OK, so I received a $75 gift card to a local bike shop. I could certainly use a new pair of gloves as one of the fingers on my current pair is split all the way down. I have my eyes on a pair of $35 Castelli gloves that rock! BUT, I'm also eyeing a pair of Castelli Ergo bibs for $100. Personally, I'm leaning in the direction of the bibs. I have one outstanding pair (giordana silverlines), but you can never have too many nice bibs. Gloves appear to be a commodity that can be had on the cheap. Would it make any sense to go with the gloves or would it be worth it to throw in the extra $25 for another nice pair of bibs. Are they quality enough (especially for long rides) to warrant it? Any advice would appreciated.

Ended up throwing in an additional $60 to get a pair of Louis Garneau Airgel bibs. 30% off the original price tag. Immediately came home and wore them on the trainer. Felt great, but can't wait to try them out on the road.
