Those wheels may not be fakes. If I remember correctly Look did sell wheels up to a couple of years ago. Their website from a couple of years ago definitely had some wheels.
Send them a message and see what comes up?

'Look' don't make wheels, never have....'Corima' did release some wheels a couple of years ago with 'Look' branding, under some sort of licencing agreement, but they were 'Corima' wheels....& they didn't look much like the ones in the photo....my guess is that these may be a pair of the 'fakes' coming out of china/Indonesia, referred to in the earlier posts. 'Look' did issue disclaimers all over the place recently (as pointed out in earlier posts), about these fakes. I'd be taking 'em to an LBS with some knowledge of 'Look' gear & get them to check it out for you, to be safe. The reason 'Look' were releasing disclaimers was that the 'fakes' were dangerous & failing at inopportune times....(like coming downhill at 50kph!)

Thank Hitchy.
Hope to hear from you soon.
This really got me worried over safety reasons.

crapola.
look tried a set about two years ago, they were in the paper look catalogue for 2006, but not their online product lists. they discontinued production after the same batch. some are still being sold through variuous channels. a few were probably run out 'in excess of requirements' by the factory here in Taiwan, the same factory that makes many top-brand carbon wheels from around the world.
those are the correct wheels, with the correct decals. the front is radial spoked, the rear is radial/ 2-cross. spokes are perhaps Pillar bladed titaniums (hidden at both ends, but they look right). they were available in a few european stores for about 2000 euros per pair. they are a pretty standard pair of 38 mm carbon wheels, very light and with a low spoke count, and they are very strong too (personally crash tested a few times). they work well uphill, downhill, and so on but as usual for carbon wheels, offer crappy braking in the wet. they do descend a lot faster than 50km/h without exploding. where the f do you get your opinions from, hitchy?

Can't be made by Look, they only have 6 Look decals on each wheel. An original Look product will have at least the Look name displayed at least 40 times.

There is a word "LOOK" on both the front and rear hub. As wat Urodacus said, the front is radial spoked, the rear is radial and 2-cross on either side. and they are light!
From what i gethered here in this thread, either I got a very rare real LOOK wheelset or I had been duped.

Not opinions....facts, (somtheing your post would seem a little short on)...'Look' have never made wheelsets...note the word NEVER....the only wheelsets that bore the 'Look' marque were made by 'Corima' under a licencing agreement. Email 'Look' if you like, they'll tell you. The posted pics look suspiciously like some wheelsets being advertised recently on ebay...'Look' have posted warnings about these wheels & indicating that they don't make wheelsets & NEVER have...maybe that's where the f my FACTS come from....whether this particular wheelset is one of the ones made by corima, is another matter....but I'd still be getting them checked out....."those are the correct wheels with the correct decals"....umm possibly, but then again, isn't that how counerfieters work?...they make stuff that at 1st glance looks like the original?....I'm glad you're prepared to risk Der's life based on the evidence of a photo!

Busted. you can come and collect my stock from me and burn them all. I'll have to stop flogging them on ebay.
Look, i have a pair, they are nice wheels, they're strong and light and stiff, so what do i care about which company made them? mine have no stickers now anyway, so its not like I'm jumping on the Look bandwagon to Look good. and they definitely don't explode at 50km/h, or even 80 km/h.
if Look does not make (or have made for them, by Corima or anyone else) any wheels, why were they in their catalogue? was it a fake catalogue? why did i buy them at a Look dealership? was it a shop selling fakes? (perhaps, but that's hardly my responsibility to prove one way or another). aything is possible. the crunch point is that THEY WERE IN THE CATALOGUE.
agreed, that picture does look like one I have seen on eBay. perhaps there are fake wheels out there. there's a lot of fake crap being sold on eBay, and we all know that (or should). so what? Both the people here who have those wheels are happy with them.

Perhaps, as in, it might be physically possible, I suppose, but No. I could not be bothered going back to that particular store way over on the other side of town. Anyway, it was two years ago. Who knows if the store still has that particular catalogue?
