Another Steelie...a Bianchi...and it's NOT Celeste

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Nor is it for me, but something I'm building for a special friend.

'07 Vigorelli. New old stock - built but never ridden.

Frame/fork/headset/seatpost - $228 off Ebay today.

Gee, thanks man, but I wanted a lugged Bob Jackson, preferably in British Racing Green.

Reynolds 631 with the ovalized downtube, made in Taiwan? I liked mine--it was very nice bike.

Shhhhh....don't tell her. And don't mention Celeste, she'll never know. And Campy, don't mention that either. Thanks.

Vigorelli is a sweet frame. I nearly bought one last fall, it was amazingly nimble.

how do you find these deals? I would have outbid you no problem but I can never find them.

Do you sit there and search bianchi vigorelli and all the other bikes you could buy or is there some trick?

I would like one of like 12 different frames but I cant search all 12 everyday.

In this case, I didn't search for a specific frame - I searched for something interesting. For 2 weeks I've been perusing the 54/55 cm size on Ebay. In the past week, I bid on maybe a dozen different frames but was outbid on all of them. Keep doing that and eventually one slips through and you win.

Simple.

If it's like mine, it likes 23c tires ... 25s sort of grate on the bottom of the brake bracket when you ride through some standing water and the tires pick up some grit.

Is the geometry relaxed or is there a reason that there are the eyelets on the rear dropouts? Touring geometry?
