Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Disc wheel decal

Hi,

I need a little input from the biking community. I've always loved the look of that Bontrager Race lite disc with the red ovals spinning around. I've been looking around to purchase one, but haven't found any under $1000. I currently own a HED disc that looks pretty plain. I have a set of decals from the bontrager race disc I could put on my HED disc, but I don't want to be a "poser". I just want a sweet looking disc. I'm thinking of removing everything that says bontrager on the Decal and replace the big "B" with a small HED logo. Again, I am doing this just for looks...but I don't want people laughing at me. So, if you saw someone with a Hed disc with the bontrager spinning oval design, but with HED logos, would you laugh at them? I don't want to make a fool of myself at club meets once the snow melts.

Thanks!
Josh

Anyone who would criticize your choice of decals is a dweeb. They shouldn't care, nor should you care what they are thinking. Its your bike ride it the way you want it!

You are either cool enough to have your own style or someone who has to be part of the herd. Follow the path that brings you happiness.

Hard for them to make fun of you when you are passing them. Or if you are so fast that they can't see you.

So how lenticular are the 'lenticular' HED discs? I got one off Ebay, and it's not flat, but it's not bulbous or anything either - just about maybe 2cm difference between the rim and the hub.

And is the freehub a standard Shimano one? Can I swap in a regular old Ultegra one?

Are you currently in a contract to advertise for Bontrager or Hed? If not, do whatever the heck you want!
