7800 DA crank vs. FSA K-Force
I know another vs. question, thing is thats the only choice I really have...I bought a new Scott Addict R4 recently on sale in the intention of parting it out to use the frame only for my red group etc....no knowing the complete R4 bike has the integrated bottom bracket which leaves me with a crank choice that will work only with the 7800 BB. So first question, is there any other crank sets out there that will work with a 7800 BB? and if you were to choose between the D/A and the FSA line (SLK or k-force..too bad the k-force light wont work though) what would you choose...pros and cons?
thanks
thanks

FSA quality control is shady. I always hear about their cranks coming off the spindle, creaking, breaking etc.
On the other hand, Shimano's been known for excellent quality ever since they started.
When plunking down 4 or 5 bills for a crankset, I'd go with the one that won't break over the one that will be 50 grams lighter.

I have a buddy that is riding the K-Force compact and he is having a terrible time with the crank arms coming loose while riding. I guess it is a problem that is common with the K Force but I have also heard that they have fixed the problem. Anyways, as soon as he can get the K-Force crank replaced under warranty, he is switching back to his Dura Ace crank or the Ultegra compact.

Even if I was going with SRAM Red, I'd still use the DA crank. As much lighter as SRAM says their cranks are, Weight Weenies seem to disagree. I don't know what the Red weight is, but the actual Force weight is 16% greater than the claimed weight. Which, puts it right at the weight of a Dura-Ace crank.

Just caught this thread which is good timing. I'm specing out my Seven and was leaning towards the SLK carbon cranks since DA doesn't offer a compact, but after looking, the Ultegra compact cranks are lighter than FSA and less expensive.
A little less bling, I guess, but I can live with that
