Question about Thule/Yakima compatability?
I currently have Thule crossbars on my car, but can pick up a Yakima Steelhead for a pretty good price.
Does anybody know for sure if there is a conversion kit or anything that will allow me to run the Yakima tray on Thule bars? I’ve searched, but could’nt find anything definative.
I know this may not be the right forum, but I figured you guys would know the best.
Mods, feel free to lock this or move it somewhere more appropriate if need be.

The Yakima Sidewinder will (should) come with snaparound clamps that can be used on both square (thule) and round (yakima) crossbars.
Well, as long as you're buying it new it should. If you're getting it used you'll have to cross your fingers that the previous owner remembered to include them...
Instructions are a .pdf on the product page:

Check Yakima's website. A good number of their bits are adaptable to other bars/systems with the right plastic doohickey.

* c bake, thanks for the link. Is there a way to lock the front? I never leave my bike on the roof for more than a few minutes anyway, just curious.

Yes. that picture really doesnt show it, but you can lock the front, you would need the thule locks of course and I bought those new on ebay as well for really cheap.
