Gawd I love Texas
heh - 77 degrees today, w/no wind, sunny skies, and low humidity. And I put in 60 miles on my new TCR Comp. Life is good.

Where do they ride out of? Might be looking for a group ride manana. I was thinking of the Violet Crown Bagel ride. Weather is supposed to be great again tomorrow.

Lovely in Ft. Worth today as well. Bad news was no ride for me. Good news was watching my oldest ride away from me while I helped his brother on his tricycle.

Hey Texans, save a little of that nice weather for me when I get back to Portland on Monday.
(that's a shiner, which I could go for right now. guess I'll have to make do with the local brews tonight)

Here in Houston, even 98 degrees, sunshine, and high humidity isn't that bad when you've got the air rushing by you as you cycle. Not to mention I usually try to get out early morning when temps are still in the low 80's. The only downside to riding in TX is I think my tires wear a little faster on the hot pavement. But buying a set of tires 1K miles sooner is still is a lot cheaper than all that cold weather gear northerners invest in. Not to mention, riding in 20 degree weather with ice and snow on the ground? Umm, yeah...
Here in Texas, LIFE IS GOOD.

Aren't those like the only two months up north one doesn't have to wear arm warmers?

Yes, great weather - and the most geographically diverse state in the union.
That's just one of the many reasons California has the highest rate of emigration in the union as well.
Texas sucks*. There's a reason people LEAVE Texas. Sorry, but that's how it is.
*Austin is not in Texas (at least, it shouldn't be considered part of Texas)

Ahh, god bless Rudy's. My in laws just decided to stay in Austin rather than retire to Florida or Arizona, and after my sad good bye to Rudy's this Christmas, I can now look forward to a pint of cole slaw and a pound of brisket under the Christmas tree next year....
