Neuvation R28 SL3 Vs. Ksyrium ES - Opinions please.
So I got a great deal on an ES set ($550) but I see that I could pick up an R28 SL3 set for $299 (or $349 w/ ceramic bearings). Are these wheels of comparable quality/performance? Their weights are similar, but the ES set has Aero spokes.
I wouldn't mind selling the ES set for a little profit, picking up the Neuvation's and put the rest of the cash into other bike components.
What would you do?

I love Neuvations, and John (the owner) stands behind all his products. The Mavic's aren't what they once were. Your instincts are correct. Once they get out of true once, they are done.

I have a few thousand km on my Neuvation R28 SL3s and have had no problems. I also have an older pair of SL2s that have been problem free. For the money they are one of the best deals around, make sure you get rid of the circa 70s decals though.

Love my Neuvations, not one problem in roughly 1000 miles. Ceramic bearings worth the money.

my experience was they were completely junk. i couldn't get rid of them quickly enough.
i had both spokes and nipples fail. spokes failed repeatedly even when they were trued and tensioned correctly and uniformly. freehub body is made of cheese, i had to start filing the burrs off mine after about 1000km to be able to fit and remove the cassette.

I've closely examined the Neuvation R28 and have found them to be pretty rough from a manufacturing point of view, while the attention to detail on the Mavic is much much better. So no surprise with the price differential. Didn't bother with the Neuvation in the end.

I was actually looking at the Neuvation R28 Aero 2 wheels or the Mavic Aksium. I need a good beginners wheel that is kinda bomb proof. Atmitadley I have heard that John stands behind his wheels but I am not sure one benifit over the other. I have become rather confused now. I plan maybe 50 to 75 miles a week. I am a heavy guy at 200 lbs. I think both will serve me well but just not sure which will serve me better. ugh I hate tuff descisions.

Tell me, do you ever have anything positive to say though? I mean, your negative stuff may or may not be very accurate, but when all one spews is crap...everything spewed tends to be valued about as highly as a pile of ****. I'm begining to wonder if you're a lonely old man or perhaps were beaten up as a child. You lash out more than TQ on an emo-bender. Seriously, why don't you pull that dead horse out of your ass and lighten up a bit?
