Enough
The 4 month-long winter and shorter days here in Canada makes it more difficult to maintain an active and daily regimen, although my treadmill, elliptical, and, most importantly, trainer gets terrific regular use. I've gained 4 pounds, despite my best efforts to keep my ideal "summer weight," but for some strange reason, probably owing more to my being a late forty-something male, those extra few pounds always seem to congregate around my mid-section in the form of the proverbial rubber tire. In my case, its not the number of pounds that matter, but where they show up. At least we are getting a minute or two more of daylight every day now...

My Summer low was 162. My high has been 171. Today after skiing-168.5. It is a struggle to maintain, beer being the biggest culprit.

I gain and lose 10 pounds a week, so I picked 10-15. Ideally I'd like my fluctuation to be 165-175, but right now it's at 177-187.

So you can enhance your self loathing by worrying about how overweight you are.
For me, I'm probably 3-4 lbs over what I could be.

I gained somewhere around 9-10 pounds on Dec.
So far I've lost 10 pounds so I'm back to where I left off.
Which is 10 more pounds to go.
If only I stayed on the bike. I'll be at my target/ideal weight now.

I've lost about 15 lbs since mid-October. During the winter months I do "base" and keep away from intensity. I can lose weight when riding like that. Once I start intensity work I find it really hard to lose any weight.

I've lost 20 pounds since my wife and I split up the end of September... Not sure if that's why or the fact that I have more time to ride.

Re: Poll set up...
If you live in a climate similar to or better than Southern California's, there's a high likelihood that you've either maintained or lost weight during the winter.
and Roger Clemens is still a liar.

I was hoping to lose weight over the winter, but my training intensity was just too high to diet. I did maintain weight though, but I had to increase my daily calories after I went through a couple surprise bonk sessions.

Nothing like a couple of viral infections over the winter to help you lose about 10lbs. Down to 183 from 201 late last summer, and w/ Spring around the corner (49 mile ride yesterday) my goal of 175 by May is becoming more realistic.

I put on around 10 or 12 lbs in October and November, lost what I put on in December and January, and am now about 5 lbs lighter than I was in September. I'd like to donate 5 or 10 more and be in the mid 140's instead of lower 150s.
All thanks to my bicycle.

Gain is not bad if you are underweight. I know there are a bunch of people like that on BF.

Once you are as light as you want to be, eating enough to maintain weight is a challenge if you ride much. It's good to be light, but at some point, you become scrawny and it actually slows you down. Anyone who's 5'10" and 140lbs does not need to lose weight.
