How many of you guys use this odd looking saddle? I have heard that it is one of the most comfortable saddles available. I have been using an Arione for the last few years, and while it is fairly comfortable, I am thinking about switching.

The only way to know for sure is to test-ride it yourself. I've heard lots of raves for the SMP saddles too. I had a chance to test ride one last summer (don't recall which model). It was one of the more painful saddles I've ever ridden, and there are a lot of saddles I can tolerate. I kept riding on it for about a week, giving it and my butt every chance to adapt to each other, but no dice.

I have, and like, a Selle SMP Glider. I tried over a dozen saddles in about half a year before settling on the Glider. Whether it'll work for you, however, depends on your body and your bike's geometry.

I have a Selle SMP Stratos on my TT bike and its like heaven. I never knew you could ride a TT bike without being in pain, so this opened up new worlds.

I've got 4 of these saddles. I only have 3 bikes. I keep an extra one just in case I build another bike. For me this is the most comfortable saddles made.

Bought an Evolution after colon surgery last summer. Does the trick quite nicely for me. It looks much better on the bike than you would think from product pics, too

I've heard stories about being-errr-pinched in the saddle. Is this a real issue with proper shorts?

When I started using a new saddle for the first time in 10 or more years, I happened to use a Fizik Arione simply because it came on the bike and a trusty friend of mine said "Hey, I heard good things about that saddle".
So I tried it. And liked it.
Then I got a gram scale. And it was heavy (244 grams for the ti rail).
So I looked for an alternative. Needs a relatively wide flat nose so I can sit on it without feeling like I just straddled a wire.
In CA I got a chance to see both saddles in a store. SMP looks very similar. Lighter. But a much shorter tail. So for now I'm seeing if I'm okay with the Fizik. If I find that maybe I can go to a shorter tail then I'll try the SMP.

I have a Selle SMP pro on my racing bike. It has an aggressive riding position, and I was having problems with the boys getting squished and numbness with other saddles. The SMP solved the problem for me, but it does put more pressure on my sit bones. It took a while to get used to it, and my sit bones still get sore on 70+ mile rides. I'd probably buy the SMP pro again, but there may be other saddles out there that would work out better for me.

i've got the SMP Composit and am very happy with it. It took a couple weeks of riding to break in my taint if you will as it shifts the pressure more towards the inner thighs. i also had to adjust the tilt a few times as it seems you need to get it set up just right. that done it is very comfortable. i only have the one and now i really notice how much more uncomfortable my other saddles are.

I've been riding a series of SMP saddles over the last two years. Everytime I test another saddle I'm always excited to get back to my SMP Glider.
Feel free to PM me if you want some recommendations.
