Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

We are not in France and do not use French pronunciation of their acronyms. If it were a proper name, we would say mah-vee. I just read it like an american.

Sorry, you lost me there. Are you saying incorrect pronunciation is ok because you're an American?

I don't know if that's what he was saying, but I don't think it's all that bad to mispronounce foreign names... mainly because most of us really don't know how they're supposed to be pronounced. Just as people from other countries often (usually - in my experience) mispronounce American names (people and places). Some very badly mispronounced, some more subtly. But it's common, like I say, usual. I don't make fun of them at all, maybe friendly correction if I think they want it. Usually I ignore it.

Sometimes it just sounds pretentious to pronounce words like a Frenchman, Spaniard, Italian, etc.

We Americans don't pronounce British products like the British do, do we? I certainly don't refer to the car or fleet footed wild cat as Jag you are as the Brits do. I say Jag war.

Yeah, no doubt. It's been over three weeks since I submitted my info and still no RMA.

They've lost all future business from me.

I've been saying the same thing about my replacement Ritchey seatpost for the one I sent to them in mid-December for a warranty replacement.
