Just wondering out here in the real world (as real as BF can actually be considered) has the lightest road bike. We'll take your word for it, but those photos of the bike actually hanging off a digital scale are necessary to be considered for coveted Pcad Schwag Cup Honors.

Not I; I ride a 60cm.
I consider my Orbea light for me at 15.74 lbs.

My 56cm Cannondale Six13 is about 16lbs with the Zipp 404 tubulars, pedals, cages, computer. That means a light frame (the Six13 frame is about 1200 grams) would build up to about a 15lb bike with the same components. It starts getting pricey to get a 56cm bike much under 15lbs. You'd need ZeroG brakes, Zipp cranks, etc.

My complete bicycle is 27 lbs ... that number is similar to 7 lbs ... it's just got an extra 2 in front.

A battle of all the people under 5'8. LOL. I could get my bike down to 13 lbs but I wouldn't want to ride it.

It must be comforting knowing you don't have to worry about that UCI weight limit.

My frame and fork (uncut steerer) + training wheels is maybe 7 lb. I could sit ont he top tube and push along holding onto the uncut steerer.

Cycling's obsession with weight idiotic. Sure, light is nice, it's overkill when you start drilling your damn rims and components to save x grams. My limit is 16-17 pound range, going any further is futile, I got other hobbies to spend money on. I live in a hilly terrain, and I ride bikes from 18 pounds to 40 pounds. It doesn't make a difference when the gearing is adequate enough to get you over the hill.

if I win the lottery and I am totally piss drunk... I just might.
I'd also have to be piss drunk to ride it
I'm 5'7 and 128lbs so I should be able to ride that 7lbs bike.

^^^ Lose the seatbag and blinkie and you will get it under 8. Or just change the text on the scale... that works too.

I was actually surprised to see that my Giant is just over 17 lbs. I think it was something like 20.something stock.
I never really tried to lighten it up, but I did just swap in nice/quality components as I needed new ones.
I did wiegh some of my bikes tonight though.
Cyclocross = 23 lbs w/ fenders
FG = 22.5 lbs
Crit bike = 20.5 lbs
meh...
