Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I voted for casual touring but I'm riding with my brother who is an animal so it will probably turn into speedwork. At least I'll sleep well Saturday night.

You left out "group ride" which could be a mix of all of the above. I'll be doing the infamous Bike Mart ride in Richardson TX. It's usually extra squirrelly this time of year, but I need some fast group time to test my fitness and just get back in the groove before I start racing for the year.

Since it was 22 below zero this morning with a high of 11 today and tomorrow's temps might hit the lower 20's I think I'll stick to the health club. On the positive side tonight is supposed to be the last below zero night of the season. Close to 40 is forecast by midweek.

I did a fixed gear century last weekend so nothing as serious tomorrow. Some BF'ers, myself included, and some RBR'ers are doing THIS tomorrow!

Speed work, I guess. I'll focus on doing as much work up front as possible and still have enough to go for both sprint lines. If the big horses come out to play and there's a crosswind, that will take everything this fat Cat 4 has, and more.

I'm riding on my own tomorrow and I've been spinning all week. So some hill work is in order to make the legs cry a little.

Most likely I'll be riding the couch, unless I can make myself get on the trainer.

If not raining at 8am - Group ride than go to work.
If raining at 8am - Go to work then 2 hrs of solo fartlek after work when rain has stopped.
If rain doenst stop - Go to work than come home and ride fartlek on rollers for 90 min while watching torrents of Long Way Down on laptop.

This time of year i literally hate Cleveland. Hate the ****ing place. Summer it's awesome, fall and spring it's nice looking....but winter....winter ****s everything up.

I really am looking forward to moving back to Sydney one day.

It's what you make of it. I may have have missed 3 weeks total out of the whole winter not getting a ride in outdoors. The skiing more than made up for that in my opinion.
