Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Butt/Thigh Pain

Just wondering if I'm alone or if somebody else has ever had this pain. I get it some when riding my bike, but every time I go to the gym to spin I get it. The pain comes from under my left sit bone and goes down my ham string, then it will go around to the top of my thigh. Once it starts my right leg will be perfectly fine but my left leg will be in pain and burning like crazy. When I stand up a few times it will go away for good. Its like a nerve or something is getting pinched under my left sit bone. Have you ever heard of this before?

It sounds like a pinched nerve to me. Perhaps a new saddle would help. I would also make it a point to stand up occasionally to relieve some pressure. I get a lot more aches and pains on the trainer because I don't change posture like I do on the road. I would imagine a spin class is even worse.
