Is this a good deal on a Bianchi Carbon Fiber

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Is this a good deal on a Bianchi Carbon Fiber

Just happened to be searching through my local Craigslist today and came across this Bianchi Carbon Fiber Bike with Campagnolo components for $1500. Although the seller does not make mention to what year frame it is, I must admit being a newbie, the bike does look like a good deal, that is if all the carbon is in good condition. Plus I believe the bike should be my size for someone 5'10" with a 32" inseam.

If I didn't already purchase my '08 Fuji Team Pro for around $2000 I would have been jumping all over this bike. Come to think of it since I am writing this post now, I am thinking about ditching the '08 Fuji Team Pro and jumping all over this bike

So what do you think, would it be best to stay with the new '08 Fuji Team Pro as a first bike or take a chance and check out this Bianchi Carbon Fiber with Campagnolo components? By the way already emailed the seller to find out his reason for selling the bike as well as its condition and to get a model year.

E-mail the person, ask to see the bike in person. Test ride it. If the components seem like they're in good condition and will be good for at least another 1k miles, then consider it. Read up on Sheldon Brown's website in regards to detecting the remaining life of gears/mechanisms.

Purchase it, or not, and then come back with pictures of your purchase (or non-purchase).

Other than that, this thread is useless.

EDIT: Act quickly. You've just posted the link on BF and there's a good chance someone else on here is just a hop, skip and jump away from making the purchase.

yup, you are totally right, this thread is useless without pictures. but just to add the seller did email me back and informed me that it is a 2003 carbon frame which is in mint condition. also the handlebars, seatpost and crank were updated in 2005. also informed me that she has received many phone calls and inquiries about the bike and that someone is coming to see it tomorrow. so more than likely i was too late with responding and the way i see it, this bike is sold.

Ask if you can stop by too! That looks like a really nice bike, it's worth a shot for sure!
