Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Champion Systems

I got my new team clothing yesterday, a few bibs, a few jerseys, leg warmers and a skinsuit all in Medium. I got in a [short as Hell] ride today in the new clothes.
Anyways, The new dark blue Professional chamois in the shorts is nice from what I can tell, it dried quickly when I hung-dried it last night and has those fancy silver ions in it that eat bacteria.
The shorts in general supported my leg muscles pretty well, and fit nice, the leg grips held well,a nd the material feels nice enough for being custom shorts.
The jerseys are nice too, lightweight, race cut and a soft material. This year they changed from the metal zipper to a plastic one.

I didn't get to ride in the LS skinsuit, but when I tried it on it felt really nice, the same material used in the shorts is used all around and it fits nicely, without wrinkles when in riding position. I'm suspecting that the forearms of the suit might be a little tight on me, but I'll know for sure when I ride an hour in it.
I'm pretty sure that Champ Sys

I didn't ride in the leg warmers yet, but they fit a little long for being mediums, and by comparision to most people my height, I've got long legs. A nice little custom-for-the-team touch is how the leg warmers have their own names for their respective legs.
The left leg is Booster and the right is Turbo.

Thanks for the info!
I've been working on a design to send them the last couple of days.
I ride with some ex-racers, tri-geeks, and century riders at work that I think my company might help sponsor. Champ-Sys looks like they have good prices, and I have one of their jerseys (from the Desperado Dual), that looks pretty high quality. Is your jersey Club fit or Race fit? I'm a small in the club fit jersey, but was thinking I might have to go medium in the race fit (38" chest 30" waist).

I just got a batch of kits in. I was surprised they replaced the orange chamois with the blue. It seems like a downgrade to me.

I don't care for the Champion Systems stuff myself, seems about the right quality for the price. Not bad, but doesn't compare with even Voler.

I find ChampSys very comfy - but it wears out much too soon. If it lasted a little longer, it'd be for sure the way to go.

I find that it's perfect for team clothing. The wearing out issue becomes irrelevant when you change sponsors every year and get new gear to go with it. That being said, last year's version of our kits are still holding strong for me.

I only have one ChampSys jersey, and it doesn't get a lot of use because I usually wear my team kit, but my biggest gripe is that the opening for the pockets go up way to high on the back; it's a hassle to get stuff in and out, especially from the middle one. The printing isn't as nice as Voler or Hincappie, but for the price and ordering requirement it's a good deal.

Our team has used ChampSys for the last couple of years. Before that, they used Hincapie. We don't have any issues with the printing; in fact, we could use all the colors of sponsors, where before I think the max we could do with Hincapie is 4 colors. Hincapie was very good quality, but much more pricey and a lot slower.

I had concerns about longevity, but the kits from last year seem to be holding up OK. I haven't opened my new kits, so I don't know how the new chamois looks compare to the old orange one. I actually liked the red one they used three years ago better. But hey, $100 will buy a full kit with bibs, and you only need a 10 piece minimum order; you can't get much better than that.

I wouldn't be caught dead in a club-cut jersey

Anyways, the reason I didn't take out the leg warmers was because I accidentally ordered them in lycra instead of fleece, so they're not very warm in the winter, I used my trusty PI's.

Also, I'm not sure, but I don't think you can put all the graphics from the jerseys and shorts onto the skinsuits, because the skinsuit is really plain, with white arms, orange chest, blue shorts and pinstriping separating the white and the orange

All in all, I think Pacific Cycles did a pretty good job on the stuff.

yeah sorry, should have been more clear. In terms of # of colors and cost/color, CS wins hands down. But since they're basically sticking the fabric in an ink jet printer, it's not as sharp, in my opinion, as jerseys that are color processed. It is nice that there's no shifting between colors, so things are exactly as the look in the digital version; I've had some Voler jerseys where one color was 3 or 4 mm shifted, and almost ran into another color in some logos.

I actually have one more gripe, not about the quality of the finished products, but with the customer service. I submitted a design once, and apparently in the Illustrator file somehow a black outline had been applied to the inside of one object in the design. It wasn't obvious in the proof (I'm sure if I had looked hard enough I could have seen it) but it was very obvious on the jersey. It was the only use of black in the whole thing and I think it was pretty clear that it should not have been there; I really wish whoever worked on the design in prepress would have mentioned it to me and asked if it were a mistake.

Like the jerseys, but the bibs seem to have short straps and be not-as-long as the bibs I really like.

Hey, OP, where are the photos?

I'll have photos when my parents come back with their cameras. Apparently, visiting your granddaughter in another state requires a minimum of six cameras per person.

You are probably right with respect to jersey sizing. I was a medium in their club cut, large in race cut. Not a noticeable difference in fit between the two.

They used to send items that you could try on to guage fit. Check with them and see if they still do that.

+10 (one for each teammate who has said the same thing) Ridiculously short. ChampSys said they would fix ours so we sent them back. They ended up just sending us new bibs that were identical to what we returned. I guess I'll try to extend the straps myself somehow. ******** sucks.

Responsiveness and general customer service has been lacking as well. Good prices & minimums though.

Odd. Our kits have the orange. We got them in February. I have more stuff coming in a couple of weeks, we will see if they have changed the chamois on these.

lycra on the shorts scuffed up on the first ride, due to the shirt zipper rubbing.

jersey breathes as well as a plastic bag.

chamois is good for a 90 minute ride max.

a teammate, who had a cliff gel tucked under his bibs, cut them with the packaging when he pulled it out.

nope. no personal experience at all.

I've had the completely opposite experience with the jersey. I can't stand a jersey that doesn't breath.
I can't wear bibs because they are too hot, and I normally wear sleeveless jerseys. The Champ-Sys jersey I have breathes really well enough in the > 100 degree heat that I end up in here in Utah. But, hey, what the hell do I know.

Their Jerseys are ok. I do prefer voler to CS jerseys thought. As other said bibs are way too short. What a hell? I look even more goofy then usual in their bibs. Chamois are ok, but again I prefer Voler ION pads.
