Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

CAAD8 TT bike

What do you guys think, should I get a new racing bike, I'll have my CAAD8 as a spare bike, should I outfit it with TT bars and set it up like a proper rig?
The bike is already a size small for me (It's a 54, it's setup like a 56) so I think it's a good size for TTing.

Does anyone TT a CAAD_?

You could get one of those snappy Profile Design 'Fast Forward' seatposts - or use one of the various brands that can be mounted backwards.

Cool! I'm getting a disc and I'll probably run one of those group Buy 50mm tubulars up front if I go through with this. I might get a new fork too, but I'm not sure.

Duke of Kent runs a CAAD 8 as a SS TT bike. You should talk to him.

alot of the guy on out team have done this. and in order to achieve a steeo seat angle like a tt bike have taken thomson posts with setback and set them up forward. NOt sure if this is necessary, but is an interesting way to get set up like a tt bike.

if you run your geometry anything like me, you are probably already on the cusp of being at the 5cm rule. (no i don't do nrc races, but i just like to keep it there, and i know you are training for nationals, so my guess would be that you are training with that position constraint in mind) if that is the case, then you really shouldn't need to move the post forward. your only concern will be the top tube length and if you can get low enough for your steerer tube. if you can get your position on that bike without running a ridiculously short stem, i'd say go for it. just post pics if/when it gets done.

Thanks for the comments guys, As of now, my job is pouring cash into my pocket, and I'm working 6-7 days a week. Hopefully I'll be building my BMC with Rival/Red soon enough so the 'Dale can become the TTer.
