Durable Ultra-Light Wheels?
I'm in the market for a new pair of durable, lightweight wheels -- something that I can train on and flog during the weekend races.
Stiffness is paramount. Comfort is a close second.
I've been looking at some Topolino CX2.0s (https://www.topolinotech.com/products/cx20.php). They seem to have the best of both worlds -- 1360 grams with no rider weight limit, stiffer than the Ksyrium, and a whole lot more comfortable.
Has anyone had any experience with this wheelset?
The price is a bit better than the R-Sys and I always love to buy products made here in the US.

LEW and Lightweight. You're not going to get light and durable out of an aluminum rim. 1300-1400g is not ultra-light...
So, for midweight wheels, you could do well with a custom build for that $800-$900 price. Topolinos seem like they'd suck aerodynamically with those huge cylinders where the nipples should be. At 30mph, you're pushing an 8mm cylinder through the air at 60mph at the top of the wheel. Haven't seen an aero test of them though. The R-Sys blows for aerodynamics, which is MUCH more important than weight -- they might be the stupidest wheels on the market.
Honestly, maybe take a look at Rol or Soul. Save some cash for the same weight class. They'll last fine.

I owned the Topolinos for a while. Very interesting wheel set. Very different ride feel that I liked a lot. I don't know how they measure up aerodynamically - they felt fine/fast but really that means squat. I'd like to see an aerodynamics test on them. One negative though is with the high spoke count and broad bladed spokes they were kind of kitey in crosswinds. They were much worse than my Zipp 404's with the deep rim.

1360 grams is not ultra light. Try Lew, Lightweight and Mavic CCUs for light and durable.
