Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Too bad I don't need another frame.

With all that stainless steel chrome EXTRA and fancy lugwork - wonder how much that frame and fork weight?

7 lbs.?
8 lbs.?

Lugs are heavy...which is why decorative ones are usually cut down - not expanded...

Still....that's a beauty...I say due to Reynolds 953 and being a custom - will go for about 2800.00 - a few hundred more than a T_______i.

=8-)

(I hear an echo)

I don't recall there ever being a claim that this frame set was for racing or uber light. The guy made it for enjoyment of the craft. He did a pretty good job IMHO. Enjoy it for what it is!

Enjoy? Flame-styled lugs? Come on, the guy may have the skill but copying the most vomit-enducing custom motorbike trend isn't going to win my vote.

This falls into the category of cycling-related things I do not understand, along with most Colnago paintjobs and why people believe in Zipp dimples as a sort of physics-defying deity. If we're talking steel, I prefer simple, classic, and understated. This is way too Jesse James for me. However, as a college student who could never dream of spending that kind of green on a frame (even one I actually liked), I guess I am not exactly the target audience either. To each his own, and this is definitely not mine.

Belongs in a museum actually, or someone's personal collection of unridden bikes. It will only gain in value. I liken it to a Bentley or Rolls Royce: not for everyone, but if you've got the coin, why not.
