Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Just got and used my cycling cap...

I like it very much, better than the Under Armour skull cap I use to wear. How do you wash your cycling cap? Can I simply toss it in my washer with my bib and jersey?

Thanks

i usually just rinse mine in the sink and hang it to dry. you can throw them in the washing machine, but it'll wear out a little faster.

I was just lookin at some hats at the shop today, but I got mild weather LG gloves instead. I can deal with rain on my clear lens glasses, but chilly fingers are torture

What kind did you get? I really like Rapha because I have a big head and they're the only ones I've seen that are sized.

I bought a Campagnolo cap for 8 bucks off ebay. I tossed it in the washing machine, seems fine. I wear it mainly because it keeps my hair back.

I usually take mine with me into the shower after a ride and rinse it out, and sometimes even use soap on it if it's really rank.

I usually toss mine into the washer. My washing machine has an Active Wear setting that seems to be more gentle and uses not so hot water, and I don't use any fabric softener.

Once in a while, though, I'll step into the shower after a ride with my gloves, skull cap and helmet on to give them a... ahem... personal touch.

The things my poor wife has to put up with. Showering in my bike equipment, blue painters tape on my nipples when I run (lots cheaper than band-aids)...

Don't put them in the dryer though. The heat will warp the plastic brim.

i always run mine through the dryer, then use an iron or a heavy book to press the brim flat while it's still warm
