Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

"Nom" means "Name" in French. Nom, nom, nom, nom means Name, name, name, name. Now why someone would say that, I've NO idea.

Funny you should say it, because it just so happens "name name name" is québécois for "nom nom nom".

The answer is obvious and sad. Its a put down. Your penalty for being unifomed. It makes a small man feel better about himself at the expense of the decorum here. There is a small population on the board that gets kicks out of lowering the standard. They are in the minority however and there are many well intentioned people here as well. There is a line. Sarcasm and BS are just plain fun. But when you step over the line and do so derisively...makes for a bad culture. And hence why many good people have left. I will say that the culture here is unusual if you frequent other boards. Yes there are haters everywhere but generally there is a lower tolerance on other boards. I believe it also reflects a racers' heart a bit...or to better qualify....a racer that was never much of a racer.
The most offensive guy that perpetrates this tiring gaffe has been banned countless times for his toxic nature.
All the best.
