Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I get yelled at. It happens, I learn and get yelled at for other things. I usually let the yelling of the Prima Donnas go in one ear and out my *******.

Honestly, I don't mind getting yelled at. Shows me that I'm doing something wrong, and it needs to be corrected.

violation: bunny-hopping a pothole and letting the guys behind you nail it without warning.

Fine: chorus of yelling.

One day, I will travel to "mecca", go on a group ride with botto present, and get yelled at by the aforementioned. It will be a glorious occasion.
Got yelled at in a race this past weekend for the classic allegation of "cutting off".
It happens.

this mornings citations:

citation 1: not calling out the pothole that almost swallowed my front wheel

issued to: too many to tell

fine: too many to yell at, so i muttered underneath my breath, as i pulled over to pull the sensor out of my spokes.

citation 2: almost taking out the the rider in front of you, as well as yourself, while you look at your pedals when clipping back in after a light.

issued to: the guy with the helmet mirror, who almost took out the tri guy.

fine: tut-tutted.

I didn't know you could get a citation for taking out a tri guy...or isn't the hunting season open there yet?

Taking out tri-guys warrants an attaboy. However, when coupled with a yelling infraction, it mitigates said infraction and the entire fine is reduced to a tut-tut.

Seriously...even though I have seen it...who the F does that??!! I shudder to think about how those people conduct themselves in their bedrooms.

Can't you just reach down and do that while you're moving? Is your sensor on the rear?

I got yelled at today for not dropping to the back of the paceline fast enough after my pull.

Citation: not slowing down fast enough.

Issued to: me.

Fine: yelled at by a big scary loud man.

Result: none.
