Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

My TDG plan's.....

Repost from the Southeast forum:

Hi all. Looks like Leinad and myself will be staying at the Best Western in Murphy NC Wed April 23rd through that Saturday. If anyone cares to join us for a few rides here is our plan. If any locals have any better ideas for us to spend our days please feel free to.

Thursday........5 Gap north out of Vogels State Park.
Friday...........Go down to Dahlonega for the finish of the race. Prior to that maybe do this 3 gap route.
Saturday.....Get up early and drive to the base of Brasstown. Ride to the top then come back down and put our bikes away and change into street clothes. Take the shuttle back up for the party.

Any comments on our plans or routes would be appreciated.

p.s. I have no comment or suggestion on routes.

LoL...I am sure the marathon will be just as much fun as riding a few epic climbs and watching Levi and Contador destroy the field going up Brasstown.
