Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

My yard sale find. Post yours.

Blackburn Trackstand Mag Trainer
I was driving to a Performance bike store to get some arm/leg warmers when I spotted this in a yard sale. With a $20 price tag on it. The old man asked if I knew what it was, I said "sure do". He said he has no idea what it was and his son had left it behind when he moved out. Im pretty happy, I've always wanted one.

Nice find. I bought a 1 year old Diamondback mountain bike with broken rear derailur for $10. $25 bucks later, I had a beater. I don't plan to keep it, more of a flip.

Trainer here too! I bought a Minoura mag 500 at a yard sale for $20, with a Lotus mt. bike thrown in for good measure. I sold the Lotus for $35, and my Orbea is on the minoura right now. I am taking a trainer break right now.

WARNING!!

Your trainer will chew that tire up that you have on there. It is way to nice to have on the trainer. If it does not chew it up, it will burn smooth spots on it and it will not have grip. Just thought you might like to know before you find out the hard way.

I was wondering about that! But I wasn't really sure, thanks for the info.

Get a cheap rear wheel and a cassette and put a trainer tire on it.

I picked this up for $14 - I got a little carried away fixing it up, mostly the powder coating. Athough it's too small for me, my daughter uses it. I only wish I would left the "Giant" off.

It would be a good idea to put a old tire on the bike when using the trainer but by the time you invest in a new cassette the great deal you got on the trainer will be lost. I'm no expert though.
