I rode my bike today.
Distance: Twice the distance from home to the place I decided to turn around.
Time: An hour or so.
Average speed: No idea.
Mean power: Dunno.
Elevation gain: Yes, there was.
Day: Beautiful.
Cares in the world: Zero.
Looked undoubtedly like a poseur going that slow in my team kit. Oh well.
Saw another cyclist and honestly can't remember if he waved. Didn't much care.
Guess that's about it.

I never have rides like that anymore. I've been clocking in all my data for so many years now. Even when I forget the bike computer, I log in estimates. I'm glad you had fun!

Apparently, the rumors have been greatly exaggerated...

My last race was the Reston Town Center GP, June 24th, 2007.
Since then, I've done 3 months as chief resident on a cardiothoracic surgery service,
3 months of pediatric surgery,
Got a 2nd dog,
3 months of trauma surgery at one of the 3 busiest trauma centers in the country,
Bought our first house,
and now am doing 3 months of vascular surgery at the Inova Heart and Vascular Institute in Fairfax, VA.
Life's been crazy busy, energy levels insanely low, and the days way too short. Things have finally eased up to the point where I can 1. have some time to myself at the end of the day, and 2. have daylight to enjoy said time.
So things are good, but very, very busy. Enough that I was immensely happy when my team kit from last year still fit.
