Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

SRAM 2009 Lineup

https://www.rouesartisanales.com/article-18854456.html

Lots of Red features trickling down to Force and Rival, namely adjustable reach.

In Iran you would be summarily beheaded for your Infidel rantings. Here we can only light a candle for you @ the Sisters of the Holy Order of Dura Achee Chapel.

yeah and FSA are the Jesuits. From garbage completes to high end Italian, it's Shimano something and FSA everything else . Throw in some Ritchey for good measure, excluding house brand ****. Shimano is a great house and they should distance themselves (like they did for their crankset) from carbon for the sake of carbon, and less weight for the sake of selling bikes.

Is the BB30 bottom bracket design retro-fittable or does it have to be designed into the frame? Inquiring minds want to know.

Dura-Ace is a has-been groupo. SRAM Rival will take over the world.

BB30 bearing cups are pressed in, so your frame needs to be designed for it. But if the new cranks are like Zipp Vuma, it will fit on your old frame. The Vuma uses screw in bearing cups if I remember correctly. Oh, and SRAM now owns Zipp, so it would be a safe assumption that the new cranks will use screw in cups.

To expand upon this a bit, the BB30 bearings are 42 mm in outside diameter, thus they are too large to be made to work with a traditional bottom bracket shell (aside from the whole issue of pressing bearings into a threaded shell).

The SRAM BB30 crankset is a true BB30 setup, intended solely for BB30 frames (unlike our crankset, which is only available aftermarket with English or Italian BB cups).

No. There's always something better coming no matter when you buy. I want Red brifters & FD. This changes things but I don't want to wait another year for better Force to come out.

Yeah, I know, I got a pretty good deal on my group too. Those new shifters are sweet though. When they come out I may have to get a set.

Italy has the Vatican and Campagnolo. DA used to be the non-sectarian choice. I ride DA, but I'm not a religious zealot. SRAM seems to be doing things right. I'd love to try Red. Maybe next build.
