2003 Fuji Team vs. 2003 Trek 2300
Hey. I'll be buying a road bike within the next two weeks. I've narrowed my choices down to two 2003 models: the Fuji Team and the Trek 2300. Both are full Ultegras and have alumimum frames and carbon forks. I've test ridden both and the rides feel very comparable. Both are on sale: the Fuji for $1100 and the Trek for $1250, so price is also somewhat comparable, I'd really appreciate any information, advice or any experiences you may have had with these bikes or brands that would help me make my decision. Thanks a lot.

Trek is the bigger name, but Fuji makes good bikes and
as you note are relative bargains. If they are the same
size and fit you, I would save some money and go with the Fuji. Steve

Thanks Steve. I did some additional research last night and so far things seem to be pointing toward the Fuji. But, I guess my mind isn' completely made up yet and I'm still up for more suggestions.

The fuji weighs 16.8 lbs. The treck 2300 is several more. If you are racing then the fuji is the way to go. Lifetime warranty isn't forever. It's for the lifetime of the bike. The manufacturer determines this so in 5 years or so the lifetime of the bike will have expired. The fuji will easily last that.

The way I read the warranty on my Trek is lifetime of the original owner.

I think the fuji has a lifetime warrenty too. My friend is a fuji dealer and he rides a FUJI, He could ride a merlin or any other trick bike he sell. I'm not sure about the details of his bike but he told me it was a wonderful bike, and he wasn't trying to sell one to me.... I have a Fuji cross bike and like it a lot. I am not familiar with this trek. Is it an aluminum frame? Oclv? The Fuji looks cooler in my book, less people have them...everyone has a trek!!

Just wanted to say thanks to all of you for your help. I've decided on the 2003 Fuji Team. Both bikes offer similar frames, components, rides and overall fit. I've heard and read a lot of good things about both, but most of them, including my preference for the Fuji's overall look, give the Team the edge. I'm picking it up tomorrow. I'll post a picture of my new machine when I get the chance. Thanks again.

Awesome man. I ordered a 2004 Fuji Team a few weeks ago from my LBS. It should be here by the end of the month (but probably not).

2003 Fuji Team for $1100 - where?
Hi there,
Which bike store is selling the Fuji Team for $1100? Do they have a website? I'd appreciate any info.
Thanks.

I have the 2003 Fujiu Team Super Lite. Don't have much to compare it to, but I think it's a sexy bike. Really light and a great deal for the $.

Thanks "off." I'll get one next year. I'll see if I can actually get the Team Super Lite instead - that would be awesome.
