Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

First ride of the season and already crashed!

Grr....

Ok so I get the bike back from the shop (in for a tuneup) get all geared up ready to go hop on get about 3 miles from my house and get to this hard intersection (on Cape Cod mind you...so small roads...), cars at every road except for the one I wish to take. I start across and the car coming towards me swerves for no reason and forces me off the road and I fall over (onto this little like half fence thing).

So the guy in the car behind the @$$ who almost (like 3 inches of clearance) hit me pulls in-front of the jerk and parks gets out yells at the guy who almost hit me helps me up and gives the driver a few lines.

Just one of those days I guess..got back on the bike, road off and did a little 20 Mi. ride just to open the legs.

Get home and notice I have a big mother of a patch of road rash on my leg...

ok so rant over...

Dude, it sucks that you crashed, but it's nice that you had some backup out there! Guy was probably a rider himself (or just a top-notch citizen).

Glad you're okay.

Hey all thanks for the replies, yeah it sucks a lot....the guy that pulled in-front of the other guy was really nice yelling at the other guy "stay in your car"....and then came over and helped me out which was nice!

As for the shop I brought it down to Chatham Bike....good shop!

Now all I need to do is figure out a way to fix the big @$$ scratches in the paint!

It was awesome, he like parked at an angle in-front of the guy and like points and was like "stay in your car" and the driver just kinda looked at him it was so hilarious!
