USAC regulations
Based on personal experiences, how stringent are officials at USAC-sanctioned events (individual time trial) RE: saddle setback and bottom bracket relationships? Talking about CAT 5 level. My saddle tip sits dead center over the center of the bottom bracket, clearly not the 5cm as stated in the manual. I know the ultimate remedy is to downsize the frame--however, when I was fitted to the bike (specifically for ITT), it seems everyone forgot about the saddle tip/bottom bracket rule.
Thanks

I think they need to reword that rule since people are clearly misreading it. If you had your bike fitted, you shouldn't be anywhere near breaking that rule. Go back and rear the wording carefully, as I don't remember the specifics, but there was a post about it here last year and it turned out the rule was simply misinterpreted.

Those rules won't apply unless it's an NRC or UCI event. Here's the rulebook: https://www.usacycling.org/forms/RdTrkCx_rulebook.pdf

Unless you're placing in masters or P/1/2 categories in events with UCI points up for grabs, go ahead and just ride the crap out of your position.
If you're really worried, PM DRWJODonnel.

you have to go to https://uci.ch and find the rule books- they're easy to find. I think the one on geometry is in part I: general organization of cycling as a sport.

A) Nothing really applys in USAC unless it's a "real" race - probably because there just aren't enough officials and resources or reasons to utilize all of the UCI type rules. They have built in a lot of good rule building in the manual that leave regulation of the sport up to other govenring bodies and only in events that really "count".
B) As alluded to in A - they don't have the physical numbers to enforce anything that can't be tipped off to by eye at the starter's house anyway. I saw some shady ****ake mushrooms at the TT I rode today.
Saw a Softride beam style frame in a USAC TT event. WTF??!! Damn tri-guys.
...and then they were all running aftwerwards too like the TT wasn't enough of a workout for them...
