TIME RXS Carbon Pedal/Cleat Question
Hey Guys,
Im trying out a set of Time RXS Carbon Pedals, and the cleats are kind of confusing to me as far was which cleat goes on which shoe. They have some marking on the underside of the clear, but it doesn't make sense to me.
Can someone help me figure out which cleat goes on the R and L shoe?
Thanks,
-Adam

there is small dot on the metal part.. dot on right side, goes on right shoe and left dot / left shoe.,
Reverse cleat position to get better Q factor, shoes will run closer to cranks..

Don't do it. I made the mistake of buying Time pedals/cleats. When I broke a cleat I found out that replacement cleats are over $40 a pair on sale. No sh*tting you. I haven't tried any other cleats, but given how quickly these ones broke during an unexpected dismount, I'd say you need to budget for at least one replacement set.
The good news, TIME USA sent me a replacement *after* I bought a set from Performance or wherever. So I have a full extra set of cleats at the ready.

I'd like to respectfully disagree with fprintf and put in a positive vote for Time pedals. I love my RXS Carbons and think that the float is the most natural feeling of any pedal I've tried. The cleats are also designed to walk in, and I don't miss carrying around cleat covers in my jersey pocket any more either. Another relative benefit I see are that the pedals do seem to be in the upright position by default and I don't have to spin them around at traffic lights to find the right side. I also like the adjustability of the tension and have been able to dial them in pretty quickly.
The only negative so far is the increased cost of the cleats, but the benefits far outweigh this especially if Time will replace broken cleats.
I did find the cleat direction/sides to be a little confusing as well. I just tried it one way, it seemed a little uncomfortable to me and I just switched them around. Worked for me.

I have also had a good experience with the Time RXS pedals and cleats. Remember that only the metal (I think it's brass) portion of the cleat clicks into the pedal so that even if the outer part of the cleat breaks mid-ride, you can still click in and get home.

Well if you like smooth float and an overall nice pedal stick with the times.. Been using time pedals since 1988 and have never had an issue. If you need extra cleats you can find extras on ebay all the time.

I have them and they are pretty nice, and I have gotten the cleats for about $30 when I broke one. If you are buying them skip the Carbons and go downward in the lineup, they are a miniscule amount lighter, a lot more expensive, and black.
What don't I like? Single sided entry that I find a bit finicky at times.

I like mine too.... usually never have issue clicking in when starting from a stop light, I just seem to put my foot on them and they are 99% of the time in the right place to click in.
What I do dislike is that apparently you cannot take them apart to service the bearings if you ever need to... Time uses some proprietory tool that isn't available on the market.
