SRAM Force 9sp?
i like to tinker and refuse to make the switch to 10sp (too many bikes already 9sp and i don't want to have a mix). so, my question is:
is there anyway to use SRAM Force shifters with a 9sp shimano cassette?
i was hoping someone would have found a trick (ala shimergo) or Jtek (https://jtekengineering.com/shiftmate.htm) would have an adapter - but neither seem to be true.
has anyone out there tried this? if so, please tell! thanks.

Just get a 10sp cassette and get over it. It takes less than 5 minutes to switch cassettes if you want to swap the wheels between bikes.

And I should add that the less than 5 minutes includes always forgetting which way to hold the chain whip and bungling it a few times before getting it off. Oh yeah, you will need a chain whip too. Good tool to have anyway.

Maybe I'm thinking way off, but since the 10 speed shimano and sram cassette spacing is the same, wouldn't the same Jtek that converts 10 speed shifters to 9 speed in shimano work for Sram?

You are willing to pay for new shifters but not a chain and cassette? they wear out and have to be replaced eventually anyway, just do it then. Also, SRAM chain + cassette can be had for around $100.

I believe (but I may be wrong) the exact actuation will prevent you from doing this. Each lever pull results in a 3 mm adjustment. But if there is a way to change the 3mm to 4 or 5 (whatever the 9 speed cog spacing is) you may be in luck.

umd - we know what your opinion on the subject is, no need to keep replying. funny that i need to 'justify' my reasoning for this combination - SRAM Force shifters with Shimano 9sp (derailleur/cassette):
here are a few reasons why:
-i don't like the 'antennaes' on shimano STI
-i like shimano 9sp DA for economical reasons - DA cassettes can be had <$50 and chains <$20
-i don't like the hoods of campy shifters for 'cross'
-SRAM does not have a cassette that is comparable in weight/cost to a DA 12/27 - Red is the only close offering but is 11/26 and cost 4x as much
Now, for those of you actually interested in my initial post:
If you look at Jtek's page, none of their current combinations suits my needs. However, i did call them and of those listed, the Jtek#4 should work. While he hasn't tested it, the 'math' does workout.
