Why do we peuk?
I hope this isn't as silly as it sounds....
Really, why does the human body feel the need to peuk under extreme working load?
Is there an anatomical or biomechanical reason for this phenomenon?
Anyone know?

I don't think this can be answered easily because there are too many factors to account for.
Ruling out environmental causes (heat exhaustion, heat stoke) and underlying medical problems I would surmise that at the end of a long ride, run, etc. a large percentage of your circulating blood is in your legs. Under extreme conditions (or when you stop riding) the blood is still sitting in your lower extremities and perhaps your brain and GI system are not adequately perfused. You may experience dizziness, light-headedness, nausea, vomiting and loss of consciousness.
That is just my nerdy hypothesis.
Now commences the flaming....

I think it does have something to do with the fact that blood is shunted to the cardiovascular system and the legs ... and away from the stomach. So what you might have put into the stomach may not have digested well, and it might just be easier for your system to dispose of it by vomiting.
Factors like dehydration, lack of electrolytes, etc. also play a part.
On my 300K brevet this weekend, I was working the whole 17 hours and 45 minutes of the ride ... battling strong winds and hills. About halfway through I started having trouble eating ... I'd eat a few bites and I knew I had to leave it at that for the next couple hours before I could eat a few more bites. Very shortly after I got home .... I lost whatever I had left in me. Rather violently.

usually when you puke it means you didnt wait long enough before your workout after you ate. The exact reason is when u eat allot of your blood rushes to your belly, in which time you sometimes get food coma, also another reason can be when u do lots of work you have to use your abs, your abs dont work well when theres food in the belly so your body naturally gets rid of the problem.
