Repairing bibs
So I have two large holes in the rear of my bib shorts(from a wreck). Rather than tossing them would anyone suggest ducktape or sewing them?

Never sew or tape up those worn seats. Most of us let the seat wear out so there is only a strip of fabric down the crack.
Voila! You now have a cycling thong.

You can sew on a piece of lycra using zig zag stitch which should work OK as a patch. I've done that with a couple of pairs of shorts before.

Bump! Where do you get some lycra patches? I guess Ben Franklin or some type of craft store?
I ate **** and tore a hole in a decently priced pair of bibs this morning. I'm alright (thanks for asking). I'm going to try and sew them up, I would rather ride with my ass hanging out than throw these away.

I was too lazy to sew a patch on some arm warmers I tore up in a crash, but the nice people at a tailor/alterations shop found some stretchy material they used to patch them up. It's not perfect looking, but much better than I would've managed on my own. If you have to go DIY, maybe a fabric store will have some good material or a scraps pile to sort through.

I cut up an old pair of shorts to get material. My mother-in-law sews up my crashed bibs and jerseys. I've also sewn a few up by hand.
