What should I sacrifice to the Bicycle Gods?
I must have displeased the Bicycle Gods somehow, because in the two years that I have been back into cycling, I have had:
- 1 cracked crank
- 1 bent handlebar
- Front wheel collapse sending me over the bars
- Cracked fork, taco'ed rear wheel, and retired helmet due to the incident above
- ITBS in the right knee
- 3 frames in an attempt to get the proper fit to solve the above problem
- 1 rear derailleur explode into little bits when shifting into the big ring
- 2 bottom brackets die
- A fall at 7-8 mph that caused doctors to think I broke my elbow
- A dent in the top tube of my most recent thin walled frame from dropping it
- A second top tube from a cabinet falling on it (inadequately installed by previous home owner)
So, what do you suggest I sacrifice in order to appease them? Vote or post suggestions.

Either your equipment is too weak for you or you're using up your all luck in other parts of your life.

Sounds like you just need to scrap the whole lot and get you a Worksman Industrial Cruiser.

Wow. You really had some bad luck. I hope some of your cracks, bends and dents happened to your beater bike, and not your rode bike.

I believe that sacrificing goats pleases the gods. It must be your goat though, so no fair going to your local petting zoo. Also, it must be bloody, so no lethal injections. Your first born would also please the gods, but since you're just trying to remove a hex, that might be over shooting. If you were going for a stage win at the TDF, then that might be in order.
*disclaimer* I do not really suggest either of these.

Perhaps you should ride wearing a full face helmet, elbow and knee pads and a BMX chest protector. Also, you should sacrifice one room of your house to store your bike. Hang nothing near the bike, and place your bike in a storage rack in the center of the room

Sacrifice your brutality for bikes, and maybe the Gods will teach you finesse.

invest in either a midget irishman who wears green and talks with a lovely twill or find a rabbit and chop his little foot off. You've got some bad juju going on my friend

My commuter bike, race bike, and beater bike are all the same bike. Maybe that's the problem, I'm not adhering to the N+1 rule. It is hard to buy more bikes in a 540 sq. ft. house, though.

You need a lowracer, so all those falls won't hurt so much. And a bigger house so you can follow the n+1 rule. Seriously, it sounds like your weight-weenie parts aren't up to the task. Choosing a slightly heavier bike might be a Good Idea.

This needed to be a multiple option poll...
I'm not sure which multiple options, but it needs multiples.

I've actually been looking for one of those. Who sells them (keeping in mind I check at several missions over the past few years)? I have a St. Michael one for commuting but that obviously does not please Madonna to be left out.
Yeah, I realized that after I posted the poll that I should have allowed multiples.
As for the weight weenie stuff, I don't think I'm that much of a weight weenie. My bike weighs 17.5 lb in race trim, the only carbon part being the fork. The frame is a little on the light and thin side, but I weigh 145 lb for crying out loud. But really, which frame would you recommend against an unforeseen falling cabinet?
Oh, and my wife says my landlord isn't even responsible for the damage from the poorly installed cabinet (it was held into drywall with 4 wood screws) because our lease says incidental damage is to be handled by ourselves and our renter's insurance.
