Is this my best deal??
Ok; I've been testing new o8 Trek 2.1 compact. I've found a new 07 Trek Pilot 2.1 on closeout ($1099) for less than the Trek 08 2.1 compact. It rides good; is this pretty much the best I can do with a price range of less than $1500? I've got to do a road trip to pick it up at a BS in another city.

Does it fit? Also, i'm not positive, but I *think* that the '07 was the last year that the lower end Pilot's frame was made in the US? I'm sure it doesn't make a difference, but with everything else being equal, it might be nice to have one of the US made frames.
The "Handmade in the USA" would be on the chainstay, i'm fairly certain this applied to the '07 Pilots. Looking at the Trek website, I don't see it on the '08s.
