Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

The ultimate climbing bike depends on which one I choose for the day.

I did get the Ksyrium SL wheels and did a metric on the weekend. I'm very pleased, breaking my record. The seller phoned and wants to trade his Durace 7801 for the SLs Should I?

The ultimate bike is one that fits you best, lightweight, and still stiff. Oh yea, and one that fits your budget.

But if you must ask for me,

Trek Madone 6 series frame, Shimano 7900 D/A, Shimano 7950 C24 CL Wheels.

I also like the Teschner frames.
