Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Easton Wheel Rebuild

I am looking to get a set of Easton wheels "tuned-up." I need to get new bearings and both will need to be re-nippled. They are Easton Orion II's. What is a fair price for this type of service?

Twenty minutes ago I dropped off an Orion II rear at Roswell Bikes in Roswell, GA and the charge for the hubs only (no spoke work) was $25. Seemed cheap to me. I've used them before for the same thing and I thought it was $50-ish bucks, but maybe that was for both wheels. They do excellent wheel work. (I'm a shill.)

Had my front and rear Orion hubs serviced (cleaned, greased, adjusted) and a rear axle replaced at my local shop for about $60.00.

Why not send them into Easton? They're up the road from you in Van Nuys.

Wheel Service #: 1.800.347.3901 x 5751 or 5753

Spoke to Easton today and they recommended I take them in to a local service center. The repairs needed are not an item covered under warranty.
