Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Bike accident --> misaligned fork.

I rear-ended a pickup truck yesterday after it slammed on the brakes right on front of me, and now my front tire is angled to the right. I think it's the fork that got misaligned, because the tire still spins true.

Without seeing pictures, can anyone confirm this? And if so, is there any way to fix this?

Thanks

It could be your handlebars are out of whack. If you can't figure this out for yourself, I think you should take it to a bike shop and have them check it out. Good luck.

If your fork is carbon fiber or aluminum I doubt it's bent as I don't think those materials "bend." Steel forks ca and do bend but like above I'd check stem and bar alignment first and the check to see if the wheel is sitting in the fork's dropouts correctly.

edit: Not meant as an anti-CF statement. CF doesn't bend is all.

You should take your bike in to the shop to have it checked over regardless if you got hit by a car.
