Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Wheels vs groupset

Is it better to spend on groupset or the wheels

so chorus with scirocco
or
Centaur with neutrons or other similar price wheels

same argument for shimano but dont know whether I should be comparing 105/ultegra or durace.

I went with wheels first (neuvation m28's...ya not very "high end" but better than alexrims). Now, a couple of months later i am looking to upgrade to Ultegra sl (found a sweet deal on craigslist). I dont think it really matters, if you want both now, you will still want both after the first purchase.

thanks for all the replies, decided to build it with chorus and fulcrum 3's which I have had previously and liked as a good training wheel read bullet proof for over 6000k apart from braking surface which is pretty much all gone so new ones on the way.
SO build is
LOOK 586 ProTeam 2009
Chorus
Fulcrum 3's
Ritchey Pro handle bars and stem
Keo Carbons with Ti spindle

Very nice of Look to warranty replace my frame (crack in headtube) so can afford to do this upgrade!. Also big Kudos to lbs as they have lent me a 595 to get around on till my replacement bike is ready www.cyclesuperstore.ie
